Today I hit 4 new places: Globe Fine Foods & Coffee, Cafe Center,some random train station one, and Palace Bistro). I am on a roll.

I went into the city by myself for the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair. This was not your average exhibition..you had to buy a ticket.

I was impressed. I was there over 3 hours and got tons of ideas. They had a surplus of craft materials to buy. They had actual workshops (beading, quilts, sewing,stamping,scrapbooking, painting) where you could make things. They had walls of award winning quilts on display each with a summary of the reasoning behind it. THey had a fashion exhibit too. Some crafts were for sale, but the majority was a tease. They would have all these finished products, but you could mostly only buy the kits/patterns.

They had great french fries too I got to try the "sweet chili sauce" that everyone insists is a better condiment for french fries here. So I gave it a go---very different--nice change from ketchup--almost like BBQ sauce.

It was a fun place to people watch and chat with the older ladies. A few gave me their imput and suggestions to me it was cute. It reminded me of Grammy (SEE PAINTED GARDENING SET)

Display Quilts (not kits):
**The fish/feet one is silly because thats the new pedicure technique in Singapore
**I love the texture and effort that went into the quilt is sending with the woman in front of the mirror
**The beach scene with the dog reminds me of Cape Cod

There were also areas where you could vote on your favorite items..one place you could vote on your favorite painted piece. (SEE PAINTED BOX TOP)

Another place you voted on your favorite fixed up furniture. They showed a picture of the old piece of furniture (bench, chair, etc)...and the story behind where it came from..and then the actual chair redone.. (SEE FROG CHAIR)..

Even tried a new ice cream bar tonight: Nestle Maxibon HoneyComb... this has been Kristen and I's new mission for the past week. Never get the same thing..or from the same place.

June 15

Tuesday..its officially 2 weeks until my arrival @ Logan International Airport.

Most friends have finals this week so i am left to venture out on my own. However, I met a friend for breakfast this morning and then did some shopping around Randwick and Coogee.

Tried four new places: Tango Cafe, JT Cafe & Sandwiches,Gusto Express Bar, and Thai Me Up. My task is to hit as many as I can in the next few weeks that I have left. That means a surplus of cookies, lots of milkshakes, and lots of bizarre sandwiches that I have come to find out its better not knowing what they include. But I am having fun with it! Loving how each cafe brings a different vibe..and different crowd.

Some have cutie,some are all for the mothers and their strollers, while others have regulars that are there everyday.

Monday...

No hospital..hit Congo Cafe, glad I did--great service. Worker/Owner saw me at the store a few minutes after going and thanked me again for coming to his cafe..

Had our house BBQ today on the 3rd floor @ 1pm. Was great...12 outta 23 showed..great kick off to finals.

Exciting Day...lot of hanging around Myola="the place of peace".

As I get ready to say my goodbyes, I figured I would try to leave one last memorable impression on the house:

RUBASH: I ate your crackers, I made pizzas out of your crackers, they were fucking delicious drunk food...thank you. PETE, SAM, MICHELLE I stole some milk to make milkshakes, but never a lot, I thank you for your generous donations. On that note, that is all I stole from the kitchen, I was not the thief you are really looking for. Love you all long time.

BRITTANY: You never made me delicious baked goods like you promised. I will be at your doorstep sometime this summer, have them prepared...or else.

KRISTEN: I respect your decision not to drink a lot...but you should drink a lot.

DOMINIQUE: Do you still live here?

RJ AND THE CHILLERS: I appreciate you making the halls smell like a certain ganja all of the time...actually not really. Smelled like shit. And you promised you'd get the next batch of cookies...lies.

BEN: My loving gambling buddy. You are currently either sleeping like a bitch, or at the casino (like a bitch). Either way you are not here to say goodbye to me. This upsets me. We balled out like champs on several occasions. "Do you know Bobby McConnell?" See you this fall, football season!

ERICA: I totally could have banged your friend.

KELSEY: I totally could have banged your friend.

KRYSTLE: I hope I got your first name right, cause god knows I could never get your last name right. I enjoyed meeting your mom. I enjoyed watching you belly dance. I would have really enjoyed meeting Francesca earlier. Either way, its been real.

MICHELLE: Putting MD on everything is like putting red in front of a bull and telling it not to charge. Its like wearing a shirt with a bullseye at an archery range. Get what I am saying? Euros suck.

TUCKER: A true bro. Slept on the couch more nights than I could imagine, and then I walk in on him... twice. I'm an ass.

CAVS: I heard you got arrested in like march, then the only time I saw you, you were drinking away your sorrows peacefully, or watching House at 8 a.m. on a Saturday. Your like a grown up, party on man!

ZACH: I banged your girl here. 'Nuff Said.

ASHLEY: I lied when I said that was all the food I stole. I definitely think I ate some of your cheerios one night. And if they weren't yours I don't know who's they were.

DAVID: I don't really have anything to say, Lakers suck.

KIERA: You get the Absolut Peach bottle that has been up here since like February.

BEN: You can have my one stamp. You will need it to mail your bond money when the casino arrests you for trying to rig the decks. You can also have my Sem 2 Drink Coupons, don't gamble them all at once.

KRISTEN: You can have my water bottle, provided you only fill it with Vodka or Goon.

DAVID: You can have my Buy 1 Get 1 Pie Coupon cause I didn't use it.

TUCKER: You can have my one piece of gum, use it well.

MYOLA: You have taken my virginity, You have claimed my sanity, and You can have my pride, my dignity, and my soul. I just want to keep the filter in my head that stops ridiculous things from being said...shit already lost that.

Sunday events:

*Church with Kristen @ Bondi Junction movie theater (see Sex and the City 2 shoe)
*New cafes/places (Pi Sandwich,Clo deli ,Baker's Delight)
*Baked an apple pie and no bake cookies for our house BBQ we are having tomorrow --its a public holiday (Queens Birthday--no hospital volunteering)

We havent tried the apple pie yet, but the cookies we have tested and they are definitely some of the best---new recipe to bring home with me.. may be because we stole ingredients from almost everyone in the house to make them.

*Dinner at P. J O'briens with Kristen and Sam...Sam offered to cook for us at his house..but we told him we'd meet him downtown..so we tried to find a "hole in the wall" hidden gem of a place to eat at..but settled for a lively Irish pub.

June 11-12

Friday.. Tropicana Cafe..Circular Quay shopping..and got a new coin to add to my collection @ the Opera House.

AND am super excited about the Pretzel M&M's that finally came out in the States. Even more excited..that my roommmate's sister is coming Friday and she can bring them to ME!!!

Saturday...met Nikita for some shopping downtown..found some super fun places---Glebe Markets, QVB, and street patrolling...lot of great unique places I found...lasted all day had to rush back to meet Kristen and Barton (my RA).

Barton, our new caretaker, we found out is an actor.

Thursday..hit a new local cafe (Tropicana) did some computer WIFI browsing...did some errands..and had a lazy day.

My roommate and I went to a show at the Opera House called Glow.

It hit all target ages..wacky humor (humour--Australia spelling)..very interactive...

flying popcorn balls, spiders crawling in the audience, and money papers falling from the sky..it was all in highlighter bright colors...


Also, gave me another chance to see the Opera House lit up @ night...

June 6-9

Last night, we got to our hostel late and played cards until 2am with chocolate coins as our gambling choice..

Sunday, 2 out of the 8 of us went to Port Douglas for beaches, chatting, shopping, and lunch. Then bus-ed back to Cairns--more cards.

Monday we took the Aristocat snorkeling tour..we got picked up at 650am and hit 3 different reefs.

Tuesday we rented a car and drove up the coast to Cape Tribulation...we took some pictures at well known gorge, then headed up for a Crocodile Boat Cruise..where we got binoculars and all and saw probably 10 crocodiles..pretty neat seeing them in their own element vs.. the cages...

then we went jungle swinging..
